An opportunity has arisen for several IT Service Management (ITSM) experts within the IT Service Management Team based in Canberra to work across a number of Service Management roles including Knowledge Analyst, Release Analyst/Manager, Deployment Analyst/Manager and Change Analyst positions.

ITSM specialists work closely with customers to understand business drivers and desired strategic, tactical and operational outcomes. The successful candidate will facilitate and coordinate business management functions across a range of functions, programs, initiatives and ongoing business activities to support the achievement of service quality improvements and process integration. The candidate will utilise and apply their understanding of ITSM principles to work with their peers and stakeholders to operate and improve the customer’s ITSM capability.

Ideal candidates will have experience in Service Transition and / or Service Operations processes and be willing to develop across the Service Management capability as the need arises.

This is a fantastic opportunity for people who have worked in one aspect of IT Service Management and may be looking to broaden their skills into other areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Use ITSM processes as a capability to deliver outcomes to the business and client; 
  • Use ITSM processes as a capability to deliver the business benefits of change;
  • Work with stakeholders to identify, clarify and track progress against agreed business outcomes;
  • Use risk management to enable better informed decision making.
  • Compliance and assurance with Service Management Policy and Process;
  • Production of statistical and other reports to demonstrate performance across the branch; and
  • Liaison with other process management teams and stakeholders.

WHAT DO WE WANT FROM YOU?

 SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrable Leadership Experience and professionalism;
  • Understanding of ITIL particularly in relation to Problem, Change or Transition Management (ITIL Foundations required);
  • Experience in project management is desirable;
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships across the organisation and vendor environment.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in an IT Service Management area;
  • Sound understanding of IT Service Management methodologies and practices;
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically to identify issues across the broader IT community
  • Ability to make decisions and take ownerships of tasks;
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Developed communication and diplomacy skills with a strong ability to persuade and influence client and stakeholder relationships;
  • Proven experience to prioritise and manage work to ensure on time delivery of required outcomes;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
